After an afternoon of research on the web I realize I have a Miss Nancy Ann doll with many outfits. I have very fond memories of receiving this doll for Christmas. It came as doll of the month program and I would receive a package each month with a new outfit. This was in California some time after 1956. Does anyone else remember this marketing program or am I going senile? This was my favorite doll and I never did take to Barbie. I would sell all my Barbies in a minute, but not Nancy Ann.

In 1959, the Nancy Ann Storybook issued a doll called Miss Nancy Ann. She was 10 1/2" tall and was that company's answer to the Vogue Jill Doll and the popular Little Miss Revlon by Ideal. She was a high quality doll that had a vinyl head with rooted hair, a rigid vinyl body and high-heeled feet. She was marked "Nancy Ann" and had many nice outfits that were sold separately. These late 1950's teenage dolls were soon to be upstaged by Mattel's blockbuster Barbie!
